My miserable Valentine's Day Romance Test

So I decided to test my heart with all the great romantic quotes of all time, just to see where I stand on the topic of romance. And I failed miserably. I am not a very romantic person I guess.

(1) Artistotle on friendship.
“Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.”
Me to myself : Sounds like a mutated soul. Nah, don't feel that way at all.

 (2) Ralph Waldo Emerson a snippet of Emerson’s intensity from an 1841 essay:
“Thou art to me a delicious torment?”
Me to myself : Sorry but who in the right mind would enjoy torment.

(3)The Tempest and beautifully captures that ‘love at first sight moment.’
“Hear my soul speak:
The very instant that I saw you, did
My heart fly to your service.”
Me to myself : Service? No way.

(4)Roy Croft - "I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you."

Me to myself : Eh....actually it is the opposite. I am becoming more and more like my mom & Dad. Working on it.

 (5) Taken from Jerry Maguire, " You complete me :"
Me to myself : This is laughable, sorry. Wouldn't give you that kind of pressure.

(6) French poet, playwright and novelist, Victor Hugo…better known for his work on the musical Cats. Sorry…I mean Les Misérables.

"What I feel for you seems less of earth and more of a cloudless heaven"
Me to myself : Seems too flaky to me. Actually I feel more earth from you since you are my rock.

(7) Andre Gide’s character Jerome in the 1909 novel Strait is the Gate, the following words perfectly sum up that desire to indulge in the simple things.
"I wished for nothing beyond her smile, and to walk with her thus, hand in hand, along a sun-warmed, flower-bordered path."
Me to myself : Maybe when baby girl is 18, as of now, I am just happy you walk with me in the parking lot from time to time.

Here is my Letter to my Husband :

Sweetheart,
Thank you for being a good friend, an honorable father and husband and most of all, thank you for putting God as the center of our marriage. So much to say but as usual, too busy to say them all. But you know how and what I feel even when I am not saying them. I love that when we are together, we don't have to try and love each other, we just do. As to how I know its love? I love you even though you drive me completely nuts every single day. It's got to be love or insanity, which really is the same thing anyway. Kind of, sort of.
Happy Valentine's Day.
Have a good trip and we will see you soon.
Love,
Your not so normal wife.
